Terms and conditions. Medical - Due to the possibility of future bone growth disorder, SKI4FUN cannot accept responsibility for particularly small children, or those under the age of 4.
- SKI4FUN is not qualified to coach children with special needs. We will however try to accommodate the needs of any child, but not up to the point where the safety of the group or child is compromised. It should be taken into account that any child new to this sport will be entering into an environment which requires balance, strength, and coordination.
- It is strongly advised that prior to your ski holiday some form of physical training be undertaken. The physical demands required, especially for newcomers, combined with altitude, are very demanding on the body.
- Sun, combined with snow, can result in many different injuries, including temporary snow blindness . Clients are responsible for providing their own eye protection. In wind and heavy snowfall conditions normal sunglasses are rendered useless. Goggles are highly recommended in these weather situations.
- Parents, Guardians and group leaders should be aware of the very high risk of dehydration and the symptoms. Drinks with high sugar or gas content are diuretics and speed up the dehydration process. We are continually surprised and shocked that family holidays are upset due to the fact that high sugar gas content drinks are consumed under the misconception that these will re-hydrate. A healthy attitude to fluid consumption is strongly recommended.
Travel & Insurance. - Travel and health insurance is strongly recommended, as is snow insurance. Please ensure your travel/health insurance covers all possible eventualities such as minor visits to a doctor’s clinic and transport costs other than an ambulance. Austria is a member state of the E.U. However the validity of E111s for particular treatments or services changes frequently. It is in your own best interest to seek advice from official sources.
- Snow tyres or/and snow chains are strongly recommended. Causing a traffic jam by not having the necessary equipment will incur a 40€ on the spot fine by the police. Traveling over the Fern pass in winter can be very hazardous. It is strongly recommended that you seek advice, from motoring organisations, before attempting the crossing.
- Damage to ski equipment will result in the individual being billed by the rental retailers. SKI4FUN staff will not be held responsible for loss or damage to any rental or personal equipment.
- Consumption of alcohol whilst skiing is discouraged; if an individual consumes alcohol during this time they are totally responsible for their own subsequent actions and safety. The groups ski coach will not be held responsible.
Cancellation. - If a customer decides, after booking coaching, that they no longer wish to participate, no refunds will be made. Travel and snow insurance is strongly recommended. (See link page)
- If snow conditions are inadequate to allow ski coaching/skiing to take place at Hoch Oetz, and a move to another slope is necessary, the difference in the price of the ticket will be met by the client.
- SKI4FUN reserves the right in the case of snow or weather conditions which may compromise the safety of clients, to stop or delay a days skiing without financial reimbursement.
- SKI4FUN cannot be held responsible for lift closure for any reason.
Equipment and Ski. - Personal protection equipment is not provided. Local retailers stock a wide variety at reasonable prices.
- Ski coaching duration will not exceed four hours per day this does not include time spent travelling.
- Private coaching can be arranged with prior notice; this should be arranged directly with the duty SKI4FUN manager.
- Top of the range ski equipment can be very difficult and dangerous to ski on if you are inexperienced with this type of equipment. If your coach believes that you are endangering yourself or other skiers you will be asked to return to a different performance ski. Should you choose to ignore this advice, SKI4FUN or your coach cannot be held responsible for any situations which occur thereafter. If skiing without a coach you are responsible for the control of the ski of your choice.
Group. - SKI4FUN will not accept responsibility for persons out of set ski coaching timings. Individual Parents/guardians should communicate directly with their child’s ski coach for timings and meeting points. Groups/party leaders should make similar arrangements for coordinated dispersal and collection of groups.
